The Fellowship Programme is a national two-year programme of support for newly qualified GPs and nurses as they begin their careers in General Practice, with a focus on working within and across a Primary Care Network (PCN). The programme guarantees two years’ worth of funding to support the release of GPs and nurses from their practice clinical role for one session per week (pro rata), so they can participate in a range of activities relating to the fellowship programme.
Programme of support includes:
- In-practice learning
- Structured and supportive study leave
- Mentoring from an experienced GP
- Leadership training
- Access to networks and peer support
- New career opportunities
- Mentoring from an experienced Practice Nurse
- Access to support and career development opportunities
The Primary Care Fellowship is open to GPs who have gained their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within 12 months of qualifying and newly qualified nurses who have graduated in the last 12 months. Fellows must have a substantive role (it is expected that individuals will have a minimum of a two year contract). Please see link below to the brochure for more information. Please contact nencicb-cd.primarycare@nhs.net for details of how to apply.
