Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) were dissolved in June 2022, and from 1 July 2022 the NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) took over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets across County Durham. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the County Durham area. Visit the ICB website for more information on the North East and North Cumbria ICB.
Partnership working
We work closely other local health and social care partners.
The ICB in County Durham works with local councils who provide a range of care and public health services. We jointly plan with the aim of delivering integrated services which means that health and social care services work together in ways that complement each other and reduce gaps and barriers for patients and staff.
We will also work with Primary Care Networks. These are partnerships of GP practices working together and with other local health and care providers to deliver services in a coordinated way. Networks are usually centered around natural communities. You can find more details about primary care networks on our primary care web page.
