Patients in Newton Aycliffe got into the Comic Relief spirit on Friday by sporting Red Noses for their COVID vaccine appointment!
Healthcare staff from across the town’s practices are working closely together at the vaccination site run by Sedgefield One Primary Care Network at Cobblers Hall.
Staff are working hard to vaccine priority groups, with many people now receiving their second dose of the vaccine.
Tony Harrison (pictured), an advanced care practitioner said: “Working in the vaccination centre has been the most rewarding part of my career, especially vaccinating all of our vulnerable and elderly patients.”
“When you receive your invite, it’s so important that you attend for your vaccine.”
Patients are being reminded that they shouldn’t call their GP practice about the vaccine, but wait until the NHS contacts them. This might be via their local practice or an invitation to book an appointment at one of the local Large Vaccination Sites in Durham or Darlington. A new site will open at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on Monday for those able to travel further afield.
